About Midsummer Swing
Midsummer Swing is back for its 3rd edition - right in the midst of the Latvian summer! Join us for a weekend full of dancing and fun all over the beautiful city of Riga! Save the date: 18 - 20 July 2025!
This year we offer
four hours of workshops in two levels with Joseph Sewell and Charlotte Middlemiss from the UK
a grand party with live music by the amazing swing band The Shoekillers from Lithuania at the spacious Padejosim venue
cozy pre- and afterparties on Friday and Sunday to hang out and dance with new and old friends

Teachers & Classes
Joseph Sewell & Charlotte Middlemiss
We are very excited to welcome Joseph & Charlotte to Riga! They are two of the UK’s leading international dancers and instructors of African American swing dances such as the Lindy Hop, Charleston, Jive, Jazz and other vintage dance styles. With around 30 years experience, learning from and working with many of the original 1930s – 50’s savoy ballroom dancers such as Norma Miller, Frankie Manning, Barbara Billups, Sugar Sullivan and other professionals, they’ve performed, choreographed for TV, Movies, Theatre, Music Videos and toured in over 40 cities a year across the USA, Africa, Asia & Europe.
Classes with Joseph & Charlotte will be held in 2 levels on Saturday and Sunday.

The Shoekillers
Attempting to capture the unmatched thrill of the Swing era and its authentic rhythmic pulse, the band has been following in the footsteps of legendary artists like Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Dizzy Gillespie for nearly 9 years. With each performance, they strive to ignite every song with the true essence of Swing. The band has been performing in many Lindy Hop events throughout Lithuania and Europe and will perform in Riga at the main party on Saturday on the stage of “Padejosim?” with its spacious dance floor.
