Teachers

Joseph Sewell & Charlotte Middlemiss

Yes, they will return! We are so happy to welcome Joseph & Charlotte back to Riga! If you were around for Midsummer Swing 2025, you know what we are talking about - we can’t wait for their amazing energy in class and what great moves they will teach this time.
Charlotte and Joseph are two of the UK’s leading international dancers and instructors of African American swing dances such as the Lindy Hop, Charleston, Jive, Jazz and other vintage dance styles. With around 30 years experience, learning from and working with many of the original 1930s – 50’s Savoy ballroom dancers such as Norma Miller, Frankie Manning, Barbara Billups, Sugar Sullivan and other professionals, they’ve performed, choreographed for TV, Movies, Theatre, Music Videos and toured in over 40 cities a year across the USA, Africa, Asia & Europe.

Classes with Joseph & Charlotte will be held in 3 levels on Saturday and Sunday.

Band

The Schwings

We are thrilled to welcome The Schwings Band to Riga! They don’t really need introducing, do they? But we’ll do it anyway:
Founded in 2011 by renowned saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Remis Rančys, The Schwings have become one of Lithuania’s most beloved live jazz acts. Their infectious energy, rich arrangements, and seamless blend of swing, New Orleans jazz, Brazilian and gypsy influences make them a favorite at jazz festivals, Lindy Hop events, and dance-friendly stages.

Did you know that they have about 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify? Approximately 100 listeners per month search for the band’s recordings on the Shazam app.

The Schwings create a joyful and inclusive atmosphere that brings generations together. Whether it’s a relaxed afternoon set or an energetic evening concert, their performances are always engaging, warm, and uplifting for the listener.
